COVID-19 Library Protocols

  1. Patrons should wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose when in the library.
  2. Patrons and staff should wash their hands frequently.
  3. Patrons and staff should keep six feet distancing (including while sitting at tables).
  4. Entrance/exit doors will be kept in an open position with door stops during library open hours.
  5. Patrons should wipe computer keyboards with disinfectant wipes before and after use.
  6. Patrons should wipe down all hard surfaces with disinfectant wipes before and after use.
  7. To avoid contact with library staff, books can be left at the drop box in the library entrance hallway.
  8. Staff has the option of wearing rubber gloves or wiping hands frequently with disinfectant wipes while handling books and other items at the circulation desk.
  9. Staff should wipe down circulation desk counters and other hard surfaces when changing shifts.
  10. Staff and patrons should always wipe down shared headsets before and after use.
  11. Patrons should wipe down all surfaces of audio/visual equipment and materials before and after use.
  12. Chairs with fabric armrests will be sprayed with disinfectant a couple times each day (i.e., mornings and evening shift change).
  13. Chairs with hard surface arm rests will be wipe down twice daily (i.e., mornings and evening shift change).
